ViTrace performs raster-to-vector transformation in a real-time. It can generate 2 type
of frames - raster (TV-Like) frames and vector frames generated by very fast outline
tracing algorithm.
There was implemented 2 types of raster frames - uni-directional, and bi-directional. For
vector frames was implemented one algorithm - outline which include various styles (raster
filters), that give different results.
There are 3 types of styles
Mono - source image transformed to grayscale image. Grayscale image will
be converted to 4 colors by means of 3 separation levels. There is ability to select
number of separation levels from 1 to 3.
RGB - in this style ViTrace will perform independent calculations for
each color channel. Every color channels to be separated to 4 levels, that give up to 64
colors. This allow recover much more detailed tracing than simple back&white
Delta - this style allow to detect contours of figures by changing of
contrast levels
By default ViTrace take colors from original videoframe, but there is ability to generate single color output.
For decreasing of noise effect there was implemented fast version of "blur" filter. This filter can be used with all types of algorithms.
ViTrace perform optimization of blanking jumps and that allow to generate more qualitative frames.
ViTrace can perform auto-detection of separation levels. For making this feature ViTrace perform analysis of every frame and detect the recessions of color usage. Levels detector can work in Mono and RGB modes.
New feature of ViTrace - output to Pangolin QM2000 board which come with Pangolin Lasershow Designer 2000. There is ability to work with
single frame of QM2000 memory, or store sequence of captured frames directly to memory of
QM2000 board.
Output to file, monitor (on screen preview) or LAStudio F4 controller can be
performed also.
ViTrace allow to trace videoframe with different resolution, start from 80x60 and up to 320x200. Recommended resolution is 160x120. Supported color formats are 16 bit, 24 bit and 32 bit per pixel. Primary ViTrace work with 24 bit per pixel resolution, because this resolution is more preferred.
Maximal number of traced frames per second depend on TV system used in your country and and we suggest that the number cant be more that 30. Primary the tracing speed depend on size of input image. ViTrace show 25 frames per second on 500Mhz processor (25% of usage by system monitor) at 160x120 pixels source image size.
